It is that time of year again. Bali’s top attractions are starting to announce an increase in entry ticket fees.

This is something that happens at almost all major cultural landmarks every year, and here at The Bali Sun, we are keeping track of the changes and reporting them to you as quickly as we can.

Bali’s Ulun Danu Beratan Temple is one of the most important spiritual sites in the province and one of the most popular tourist attractions, too. The temple, which sits on the banks of Beratan Lake, is visited by hundreds of thousands of tourists every year, and as of 1st July 2026, it will cost tourists a little more to visit.

Typically, the entry fees to Bali’s top cultural landmarks are very reasonably priced, and the price increases are barely noticeable to the average holidaymaker. These price increases won’t make too much of a difference even to the most budget-conscious travelers.

Speaking to reporters, Ulun Danu Beratan Tourist Attraction Public Relations Officer I Made Sukarata explained that the fare adjustment is not only a revenue boost, but also an effort to boost service quality and the destination’s competitiveness.

He shared, “This increase was made after an in-depth study of operational conditions. We want to ensure that Ulun Danu Beratan remains a comfortable, clean, and safe destination with continuously improving service standards.”

The price changes will impact both domestic and international tourists, and the new prices will also be standardised across the week. At present, there are different rates for weekends and weekdays for domestic tourists. For domestic adults, prices will increase to IDR 50,000, and for children, prices will increase to IDR 25,000 from IDR 20,000.

For international adults, the tickets will increase to IDR 100,000 from IDR 75,000 for adults and IDR 75,000 from IDR 50,000 for children.

Sukarata told reporters that the tariff adjustments have been communicated through official letters to ASITA, PHRI (Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association), and travel agents outside Bali so that tourism providers can adjust their tour packages ahead of time, so that tourists don’t get any shocks when they arrive.

He explained, “We hope this new policy will help Ulun Danu Beratan remain a tourist magnet, offering a more quality and memorable visitor experience.”

Tourist visits to Ulun Danu Beratan Temple are increasing. By the end of November, the temple had welcomed 467,895 tourists, with July recording the highest number of monthly visitors at 51,000 people.

Tourists instantly fall in love with Ulun Danu Beratan Temple, and it’s not hard to see why. In fact, it’s not only the visit to the lakeside temple that charms tourists but the Bedugul Highland landscape within which the temple sits.

The high elevation of the Bedugul Highlands welcomes tourists with crisp, cool air year-round. With limited commercial development in the area, the rolling highlands are forest-covered, and many of the accommodations in the area are locally owned and operated.

Increasingly, tourists are choosing to stay longer in the Bedugul Highlands, rather than visit for a quick day trip. That being said, a day trip to the Bedgul Highlands is a highly recommended excursion from the resorts of the central south.

During a single-day trip to the Bedugul Highlands, tourists can not only enjoy a scenic drive through the heart of Tabanan Regency and visit Ulun Danu Beratan Temple and Lake Beratan, but also visit the stunning Blooms Garden and the Bali Botanical Garden too.

There are also options to visit the iconic Handara Gate to snap a photo or two before traveling a little further north to enjoy a tour of the new Turyapada Tower for views over the landscape from a whole different perspective.
