DENPASAR, Bali – A 22-year-old Indonesian woman has accused an Australian man of sexually assaulting her at a resort in Bali, prompting a police investigation into the alleged incident.
The woman, identified only by her initials CSD, filed a report with Denpasar Police on June 29, alleging that the incident took place at Padma Resort Legian in Kuta, Badung, on the night of June 24.
In her complaint, she alleged that the Australian national, identified by the initials MI, forced her to have sexual intercourse three times without her consent.
She told police she suffered injuries and bleeding following the alleged assault.
After receiving the report, investigators issued an official police report receipt (STPL), referred the complainant for a medical examination, and inspected the alleged crime scene as part of the investigation.
Detectives are also interviewing the complainant and witnesses while gathering evidence to establish the circumstances surrounding the case.
Police have not disclosed the relationship between the complainant and the reported man, nor have they released further details about the events leading up to the alleged assault.
When contacted on Sunday, Denpasar Police spokesperson I Gede Adi Saputra Jaya said he would first verify the report with investigators handling the case.
“I’ll check with the investigators first,” he said.
No arrests have been announced, and police have not identified any suspect as the investigation remains ongoing.
