Official Launch: Bali Tourism & Investment Chamber (BTIC)

An opportunity to serve the interests of Bali, Indonesia-at-Large and the people which call it home both locals and foreigner investors alike.

What began back in May 2025 as a simple idea between Ibu Ir. Rizki Handayani, MBTM, the Deputy Minister for Industry and Investment at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of Indonesia, and Robert Beard from the Bali Foreign Investment Advisory Service, who has for years worked closely with women leaders from Indonesian Government Ministries in Jakarta and KADIN Indonesia (Indonesia’s Chamber of Commerce) has now grown into a collaborative platform a bridge for real change.

Robert reached out to Ibu Sophie from Yak Magazine and Bpk Terje from Seven Stones Indonesia, and on July 10th, SSI, which frequently supports the Ministry of Tourism, helped bring together a few selected minds to explore how communication between investors and government could be strengthened.

This initial meeting took place on July 17th 2025, and from that discussion, a working group was formed.

Today, we are proud to officially announce the launch of the

Bali Tourism & Investment Chamber (BTIC) – a positive initiative supported by the Indonesian Government, created to build understanding, transparency, and collaboration between foreign investors, local stakeholders, and government authorities.

This initiative must be managed with care – free of politics, conflicts of interest, and with one shared goal: economic benefit for Bali, the Balinese, and all of us who call this island home.

Our temporary board collectively represents more than 100 years of experience and has supported over 3,000 foreign investors to establish or manage their investments across Bali and Indonesia. Forward this figure will grow with each person joining the board and as a member.

Launch of the Bali Tourism & Investment Chamber (BTIC)

Bali, Indonesia – The Bali Tourism & Investment Chamber (BTIC) officially launches today, marking a new chapter of collaboration between investors, local stakeholders, and government to strengthen Bali’s sustainable economic future.

The initiative began in May 2025, through discussions between Ibu Ir. Rizki Handayani, MBTM, Deputy Minister for Industry and Investment at Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism, and Robert Beard of the Bali Foreign Investment Advisory Service. It has since evolved into a trusted platform for transparency, cooperation, and growth.

BTIC’s formation follows a July 2025 working group hosted by Seven Stones Indonesia, where Ibu Sophie of Yak Magazine and Bpk Terje of Seven Stones Indonesia joined in exploring new pathways for investor–government engagement.

With support from the Indonesian Government, BTIC is committed to responsible investment and sustainable development. Non-political by design, the chamber promotes integrity, inclusivity, and open dialogue to ensure long-term benefits for Bali and its people.

A founding board with over a century of combined experience underpins BTIC’s credibility. Collectively, its members have supported more than 3,000 investors in establishing businesses across Indonesia, providing a strong foundation for practical collaboration.

Among its founding circle are Robert Ian Bonnick, “The Inspirationalist,” renowned for leadership and community impact, and Elvira Wijsen, co-founder of Bye Bye Plastic Bags, representing a new generation of environmentally conscious Indonesian leaders.

BTIC’s goal is to build bridges – clarifying regulations, addressing investor concerns, and aligning efforts toward Bali’s shared prosperity. Through cooperation and respect, BTIC will help shape a future where investment and sustainability advance hand in hand.

Let’s build something extraordinary, together.
