In the spirit of Ramadan, a time of reflection, generosity, and togetherness, Marriott Business Council Bali hosted a heartfelt Ngabuburit (pre-iftar gathering) followed by Buka Puasa Bersama (communal iftar) at Yayasan Panti Asuhan Bali As-Salam, Denpasar Timur, on Thursday, 12 March 2026.
The initiative brought together 29 hotels and resorts from Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio across Bali, Lombok, and Labuan Bajo, alongside travel agent partners and media representatives, to foster meaningful community engagement while celebrating the holy month through acts of kindness and shared moments. As part of the program, 24 children from the orphanage participated in an afternoon of activities and reflection before breaking the fast together. The event also included the donation of essential food supplies and school utensils, aimed at supporting the children’s daily needs and educational activities.
The gathering began with opening remarks from Go Kondo, General Manager The Ritz-Carlton, Bali who serve as Customer Activity Pillar Leader of Marriott Business Council Bali, and Hector Busto, General Manager of The St. Regis Bali Resort also the Chairman of Marriott Business Council Indonesia, followed by a symbolic handover of donations from the organizing committee of the Marriott Business Council Bali – Customer Activity Pillar to the orphanage.
A religious sermon delivered by Ustadz Nashrom provided a moment of reflection for attendees, while the children of Yayasan Panti Asuhan Bali As-Salam presented a recitation of short verses from the Qur’an, adding a heartfelt touch to the gathering. Guests and children then participated in interactive games and activities, creating an atmosphere of joy and connection before preparing to break the fast together.
As sunset approached, participants shared ta’jil (traditional sweet refreshments to break the fast) before continuing with the communal iftar and Maghrib prayers, concluding the evening with warmth and gratitude.
