Four defendants are facing demands for 18 months in prison each over the alleged robbery of two foreign nationals at a villa in Seminyak, Badung.
Prosecutor Ni Luh Nyoman Ayu Puji Astini read the demands at the Denpasar District Court on Tuesday (Sept. 8, 2026).
The defendants are Gerald Dumatubun, 19, also known as Gladys; Darlan, 25, also known as Lola; GNBP, 35; and RY Yulianti, 46. Two of the defendants are transgender women.
Prosecutors said the four were legally and convincingly proven to have committed aggravated theft under Article 477 paragraph (1) letters e and g of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Indonesian Criminal Code.
Prosecutors asked the court to deduct the time the defendants have already spent in detention and ordered that they remain in custody pending the verdict.
The case began at around 3 a.m. on March 26, 2026, at Villa Aora Dua by Elsewhere in Seminyak.
According to the prosecution, one of the victims, identified as Almuqbil Omar Abdulaziz M, met Gerald through the Tinder dating application before going to the villa. Almuqbil later asked Gerald to contact a friend to accompany his companion, Mohamad Aboallh M Alamro.
Darlan subsequently arrived at the villa. Prosecutors said the two victims later asked the pair to leave.
The prosecution said the defendants then contacted several other people, including I Gusti Ngurah Agung Bayu Prayoga and Ratna Yulianti, before returning to the villa.
The group allegedly forced their way into the property. Prosecutors said Bayu Prayoga then attacked Alamro with a machete after the victim refused a demand for money.
The victims were allegedly robbed of cash and personal belongings, including Rolex watches, iPhones, a Lenovo laptop, AirPods, passports and perfume.
The total reported loss was approximately Rp 324 million. Alamro was estimated to have lost around Rp 144 million, while Almuqbil suffered losses of approximately Rp 180 million.
Prosecutors cited the impact of the crime on the community and the losses suffered by the victims as aggravating factors. The defendants’ admission of wrongdoing and remorse during the proceedings were cited as mitigating circumstances.
Prosecutors also requested that each defendant pay Rp 2,000 in court costs.
The court has yet to deliver its verdict.
