Bali has reaffirmed its position as one of the world’s best tourism destinations at the prestigious Condé Nast Traveler’s Choice Awards 2025.

Bali has been named as the Best Island in Asia for travel in 2025, and it’s not hard to see why.

The Condé Nast Traveler’s Choice Awards are one of the most highly respected travel awards in the world. Conde Nast Traveler is known for their love of high-quality tourism and travel experiences while putting authentic and meaningful travel front and centre of every experience.

Bali has scored an impressive 96.86 from Conde Nast readers, putting the province in a clear first position. The 2025 awards are a proud moment for Indonesia, as Lombok came in second place, scoring 94.86 with readers and real travellers. The top five was completed by Sri Lanka, scoring 93.57, followed by Boracay in the Philippines, scoring 92.65 and in fifth place is Thailand’s Koh Lanta scoring 92.64.

The award has been celebrated by Wonderful Indonesia, the national tourism board, which has shared, “Bali has captured the world’s heart.  Thousands of travelers have visited the Island of the Gods. And once they set foot here, Bali lingers forever in their souls. “

Wonderful Indonesia adds, “This is reflected in the nomination from Condé Nast Traveler, which crowned Bali the Best Island in Asia, making it the number 1 choice among European audiences. However, some reports placed Bali at number 6 by the U.S. audience, which is smaller in scale than Europe. A place where nature, culture, and wellness dance together in harmony. This is Bali, and it is calling you to come.”

Wonderful Indonesia took the moment to highlight some of the most impressive and memorable experiences tourists can have in Bali, to reconnect, refresh, and recharge. To reconnect, Wonderful Indonesia recommends tourists head to the Campuhan Ridge Walk. This stunning footpath offers iconic views over the Ubud valley.

Wonderful Indonesia shares that the Campuhan Ridge Walk is ‘a peaceful trail surrounded by rolling green hills. This place is the definition of Bali’s natural charm, where you can reconnect with nature and feel the island’s gentle beauty.”

The second spot, Wonderful Indonesia recommends to tourists who are visiting Bali, inspired by the island now being named the Best Island in Asia in 2025, is the Tirta Empul Temple. At Tirta Empul Temple, located just outside of central Ubud, tourists can take part in a water purification ceremony called melukat.

Wonderful Indonesia explains, “Symbolising balance and renewal, Melukat is a centuries-old Balinese cleansing ritual performed with holy spring water. Here you’re invited to purify your mind, body, and spirit through ancient Hindu traditions.”

The final spot on the recommendations list from Wonderful Indonesia is a spot to recharge, and they have picked a great spot indeed.

Wonderful Indonesia is pointing first-time tourists to Nusa Lembongan, with its turquoise waves, coral reefs, and Bali’s coastal traditions.

Nusa Lembongan invites you to slow down and recharge. Here, seaweed farmers still tend to their fields by hand, preserving a way of life that has sustained the island for generations.”

Tourists looking to recreate this itinerary can easily do so, even over a short stay in Bali. Once landing at Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, head straight up to Ubud for a 3-night stay.

Over 3 nights, it is possible to tick the Campuhan Ridge Walk and a visit to Tirta Empul Temple off the bucket list, as well as other must-visit Ubud attractions like the Tegalalang Rice Terraces and Ubud Water Temple.

It is easier than ever to travel to Nusa Lembongan from Ubud. Hail a taxi or hire a private driver to transfer down to Sanur Harbor and catch one of the many daily fast boats to Nusa Lembongan for a 4-night stay.

Soak up all the small island vibes and even visit Nusa Penida and Nusa Ceningan if you want to stay busy. Departure is easy too, hop back on a fast boat and jump in a short taxi ride back to the airport, and that is a pretty impressive and comprehensive first trip to Bali, showcasing the best of island life!
