Seseh is having a moment right now. Once a traditional farming and fishing community on the Badung Regency coast, Seseh has caught the attention of local and international business developers, tourists, and digital nomads all seeking healthy lifestyles and community vibes.

Healthy Lifestyles And Community Vibes Attract Tourists And Digital Nomads To Bali’s Seseh

From run clubs to coffee shops where there’s always a familiar face, Seseh is a real home away from home. It’s reminiscent of a pre-pandemic Canggu, or Ubud, fifteen years ago. It’s easy to see why digital nomads and expats have fallen in love with Seseh and why tourist are slowly making their way out to this village outside of Canggu too.

Home to a vast stretch of beach and high crashing waves, Seseh Beach feels somewhat more dramatic than the beaches of Canggu and is markedly quieter, too. For tourists seeking a vacation filled with good views and good vibes, Seseh ticks a lot of the right boxes.

It’s Seseh’s healthy food menus that have the international community here writing home about. With a series of relatively newly opened cafes, coffee shops, and restaurants now populating the neighbourhood, it’s easier than ever for tourists to make the healthy choice on vacation in Bali’s Seseh.

Take Seseh St Cafe, for example. Serving up Western-inspired breakfasts and Asian-inspired dinners, this chic fusion eatery keeps high-quality ingredients and nutrition at the core of every dish. The pan-seared barramundi fillet, served with sautéed garlic broccoli and a salad bowl, is accompanied by a rich seaweed butter sauce. It is not only beautifully presented but also exceptionally tasty and incredibly healthy.

The avocado guacamole and tomato salsa tart, rucola, on top of barbecue grilled prawn, served with lemon vinegar and chilli mayo, has diners booking return reservations before they’ve even moved on to dessert.

Even cheat day treats at Seseh St Cafe are primed for top nutritional value too. The Tagliatele with scallops, prawn, fish, calamari cooked with Creamy mushroom sauce, topped with rucola and parmesan cheese is the perfect carb-heavy dinner after an active day in Seseh.

While healthy dinners are a vibe in Seseh, the healthy lifestyle here really starts at the crack of dawn. Sunrise community runs or gentle early morning yoga sessions are the name of the game. It’s not uncommon to see newly arrived foreigners in Seseh heading out for a morning run just as long as community farmers head off to the fields for the day, and young families start the school run.

One thing that locals and international folks in Seseh do have in common is a love of coffee, and early morning coffee rituals in this village are the perfect place to meet the neighbors and enjoy some of Indonesia’s famous coffee varieties.

Seseh General Store is a spot where tourists will quickly befriend not only local expats but also their dogs, too. There’s always a friendly four-legged friend to play with at Seseh General Store while orders are being made up.

The breakfast menu is so comprehensive, offering something light to keep that post-yoga glow shining all day, or something more filling to help refuel after an early morning run.

Over at FLOWERBOY, tourists, and new to the neighbourhood digital nomads and expats can find their tribe every Wednesday and Saturday mornings at 6 pm. The community comes together for a steady 5km and punchy 10km village and rice paddy run, followed by hangout and coffee time.

There’s plenty of great vegan cakes and pastries to go around, too. Even if running isn’t your vibe, ‘life in the slow lane’ is an unofficial slogan of this community coffee shop, so whether you’re keen to trot or not, all are welcome.
