One of the greatest joys of traveling to Bali is the multitude of different opportunities to create itineraries that are totally unique and tailored to your personal travel style.
Here at The Bali Sun, we are big advocates for the multi-stop vacation itinerary. With so much to explore on just one small island, it is a real shame to stay in just one place.

With connectivity between Bali’s most in-demand resorts better than ever and with so many cultural wonders to explore and world-class hotels to experience, the multi-stop vacation in Bali has to be the most unmissable travel trend of the year. There are so many different sources of inspiration for a multi-stop vacation in Bali, holidaymakers can plan their getaway around their preferred travel style, budget, or time availability.
Here at The Bali Sun, we’ve put our heads together to map out the best multi-stop vacation routes to think about for your next vacation in Bali. Whether you’re a beach lover or a culture vulture, with so many different options to choose from, it’s hard to know where to start. Here are two easy-to-replicate itineraries to give you the inspiration and confidence you need to book your next trip!
The Beach Hopper
Of course, the beach hopper vacation in Bali is the top choice of first-time visitors to the island, and in fact, many returning holidaymakers too. For a relatively small island, Bali’s coastline is hugely diverse. With both black and white sand beaches, rugged cliff back shorelines, and vast expanses of picture postcard sand and sea, beach hopping is an easy choice for those heading to Bali for a little R&R.
The first stop on a Beach Hopper itinerary has to be Canggu. As Bali’s hottest beach destination right now, this surfer paradise is home to some of the world’s biggest and best beach clubs. Spending 2-3 nights in Canggu feels right to most travellers. This gives enough time to kick back and relax at beach clubs like FINNS or Atlas Beach Club, as well as take a couple of surf lessons and try out all the famous coffee shops – we love Revolver!
Then it’s southbound to Uluwatu. Here, tourists can enjoy cliff-backed beaches, stunning sunsets, and exceptional hospitality.
Uluwatu is home to some of the newest and most upmarket hotels, resorts, and villas on the island, many of which offer unparalleled sunset views. The final stop on the Beach Hopper tour is Nusa Dua. As Bali’s most luxurious beach resort, Nusa Dua is the perfect place to enjoy a calm few days before flying home. But be warned, these spotless, soft sandy shores could have you extending your stay!
The Cultural Conisseur
Travellers seeking a cultural deep dive on vacation in Bali are in luck. As one of the most culturally unique destinations in the world, Bali offers tourists the opportunity to connect with local culture and the landscape in a really authentic way.

The cultural capital of Bali is Ubud, which makes the perfect starting point for this itinerary. Spending 3-4 nights in Ubud gives tourists plenty of time to explore must-visit heritage sites like the Ubud Water Palace and Goa Gajah Temple.
Ubud is also the perfect launchpad to explore other nearby sites of cultural significance, including Tirta Empul Temple and Gunung Kawi.

Keeping things culturally inspired, the second stop is the ancient city of Semarapura. Home to the traditional court of justice, Kertha Gosa, Semarapura is an often overlooked cultural gem.
The joy of this is that this part of Bali is seldom crowded, offering culturally curious tourists plenty of time to slow down and dive deep. Must-visit attractions in the Semarapura area include Tirta Gangga Water Palace and the Samsara Living Museum.

The final stop is the most important city in Bali and the beating heart of modern culture on the island.
In Denpasar, the island’s ancestral heritage meets the ever-changing modern world and offers tourists the chance to understand the island’s history in new ways. Walking tours are the best way to discover Denpasar for sure.
