The Bali Maritime Hub is a multi-million dollar redevelopment of Benoa Harbour in Denpasar. The project is set to change how tourists experience Benoa forever and welcome a new generation of visitors to the area.

The Bali Maritime Tourism Hub is on a mission to transform Benoa Harbour into a world-class luxury marine tourism destination. Once a small fishing harbour, Benoa has undergone many transformations over the years, but this latest redesign will make the area bigger and better than ever before.
The redevelopment is not only a big deal for Bali, but for Indonesia as a whole. The project is part of Indonesia’s national strategic plan to boost its tourism economy and to put itself front and centre on the world stage as a leader in the maritime tourism industry.
The most noticeable redevelopment at Benoa is the new cruise terminal, which has been increasingly operational since opening over the last few months. The new docking pier can accommodate up to three jumbo cruise ships at a time, with each ship holding up to 9,000 passengers.
This expansion, allowing Bali to receive some of the world’s largest cruise liners, will make it one of Asia’s leading cruise destinations. Initial projections suggested that the cruise terminal at the Bali Maritime Tourism Hub would welcome upwards of 100,000 passengers by the end of 2025. This was not an ambitious target, especially since in 2024, the port welcomed 59 cruise ships and 103,000 passengers altogether.
It is not only the cruise terminal that will be welcoming a new generation of tourists, but the impressive luxury yacht marine too.
The Bali Maritime Tourism Hub has also been developed to include one of Southeast Asia’s biggest luxury marinas, able to accommodate 275 super yachts over 90m long.
Not only can the Bali Maritime Tourism Hub accommodate these vessels, but it also offers full servicing facilities, including fuelling stations, a working dock, and maintenance resources too.
In the long run, the luxury yacht marina at the Bali Maritime Tourism Hub is also set to feature the kind of amenities luxury yacht passengers are accustomed to, including high-end retail outlets, fine dining restaurants, and a range of leisure facilities.
Clubhouses, luxury hotels, and accommodations are also expected to open in the area.
Guests already docking in the Bali Maritime Tourism Hub can enjoy the warm welcome and exceptional hospitality of Black Stone Yacht Club right on the marina front.

Speaking in July 2025, Indonesia’s Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana shared her hopes for the new development and its impact not only on tourists but also on local businesses and the local community.
During her visit to the Bali Maritime Tourism Hub, Minister Wardhana was joined by the Strategic Director of Pelindo, the state-owned company behind the development, who explained to reporters how the Bali Maritime Tourism Hub will help support economic growth in Bali and the surrounding regions.
Drajat Sulistyo told reporters, “The Bali Maritime Tourism Hub is not just a port but a centre for marine tourism, activated, integrated with logistics, shipping, and tourism infrastructure. We remain committed to making this area an international maritime hub.”

For those who want the luxury liveaboard experience in Bali but don’t have access to their own super yacht, then the Phisi Cruise is a fantastic option.
The Phinisi Cruise, based out of Benoa, is a nightly sunset dinner cruise aboard a traditional Indonesian phinisi ship.
This unforgettable four-hour adventure is one of the best ways to watch the sunset off the Denpasar coast.
To most tourists visiting Bali, Benoa will remain for some time most famous for its watersports centres.

Specifically located at Tanjung Benoa, the resort is one of the most family-friendly and adventurous areas of the island. Popular activities include jet-skiing, parasailing, sea walking, flyboarding, snorkelling, and wakeboarding.
