BIMC Hospital Kuta initiated a health talk titled “Save Lives. Starting With Yours” on February 20, 2026, at Prama Sanur to highlight the challenges of finding Rhesus Negative donors in Bali. Data from PMI Bali recorded 50 individuals with A-, 23 with B-, 123 with O-, and only 2 with AB-.
The speakers at this event were dr. I Ngurah Arya Wicaksana, Sp.An-TI, Subs. TI (K), and Ni Luh Putu Arista Apriyanti, A.Md.AK from PMI Bali. Mike Lambrou from Bali Hash House Harriers also shared his experience of donating his Rhesus Negative blood.
Meike Magnasofa, M.Med (WH)., MARS, Director of BIMC Hospital Kuta, stated, “BIMC Hospital Kuta, in collaboration with PMI Bali Province, initiated efforts to increase public awareness and build a strong network with communities to establish a Rhesus Negative Contact List as a potential donors, which is very rare in Bali, so that in emergency situations no life is lost due to the unavailability of the required blood.”
