Business is booming in Tabanan Regency right now. Tabanan Regency is best known to tourists for iconic landmarks like Tanah Lot Temple and world-famous landscapes like Jatiluwiih Rice Terraces. The working rice terraces hold UNESCO World Heritage status, making the area one of the most unique places on earth.
Interest in travel in Tabanan Regency has always been high, but over the last year there has been a sharp increase in interest from tourists in the area.
Leaders in Tabanan Regency have spoken to reporters about the impact this is having, and plans moving forward. The Tabanan Regency Regional Finance Agency has confirmed that revenue for Regional Original Income (PAD) tax has already exceeded 2026 targets, and this is largely due to the tourism sector.
The Head of the Tabanan Regency Regional Finance Agency, Ni Wayan Mariati, told reporters, “PAD realisation through mid-year presents a positive picture.”
“This first-semester achievement certainly serves as a benchmark and fosters optimism for the 2026 PAD target that can be achieved as set.”

With the collaboration of all regional government agencies, support from business actors, and public compliance as taxpayers, we are optimistic that the 2026 PAD target can be optimally realised. The revenue collected will then be returned to the community in the form of development and public services.”

Widiatmaja concluded, “If all elements are well developed, tourism villages in Tabanan will not only be known locally but can compete in the international market.”
