Bali Water Foundation Welcomes Michael De Marte and Robert Beard Ahead of Late 2026 Launch of Asia’s First Plant-Based Reusable Water Bottle

The Bali Water Foundation today announced that Michael De Marte and Robert Beard have joined the Foundation, bringing complementary commercial and regional sustainability expertise to its mission as it prepares to launch Asia’s first plant-based, reusable water bottle in Bali and to the world in late 2026.

“This is a new science-led category in hydration — built for longevity, through sustainable water sourcing that moves beyond traditional methods — designed with the same care for the planet as for the people who drink from it,” said Michael De Marte.

“Bali is where the idea began — to reduce the footprint on nature and carry the indigenous philosophy of Tri Hita Karana, a guiding principle from the island of Bali, which has contributed to shaping an innovative sustainability-sourced bottled water model, one that puts the planet, wildlife and long-term human longevity first,” said Robert Beard

Bali Water Foundation calling upon science and innovation not to deplete groundwater.

Tri Hita Karana, an ancient Balinese spiritual framework that calls on humans to maintain a harmonious relationship with the divine, each other, and the natural environment.

About Bali Water Foundation

Bali Water Foundation is built on a science-led approach across three pillars: sustainable water sourcing that moves beyond traditional methods, careful purification and remineralisation for longevity, and a circular solution — a plant-based, reusable water bottle designed to end single-use culture. Every bottle sold contributes to the One Bottle, One Tree programme, funding reforestation across Bali led by indigenous women’s communities under the Foundation’s 10-million-tree Bali Green Fund target.
