Two Foreigners Flee Bali Immigration During Motorcycle Training

DENPASAR, Bali — Immigration officers in Bali are searching for two foreign nationals suspected of providing unauthorized motorcycle riding lessons to other foreigners after the pair fled during an enforcement patrol in Serangan.

The incident occurred on September 25, when officers from the Denpasar Immigration Office’s Intelligence and Enforcement Division were conducting a patrol in the area.

According to immigration officials, officers encountered what they suspected was a motorcycle riding course involving foreign nationals.

Two foreigners believed to be acting as instructors fled when officers attempted to approach them.

“The team attempted to pursue them, but they fled,” Denpasar Immigration Office chief R. Haryo Sakti said on October 1, as quoted by Antara.

Officers also identified two foreign nationals believed to have been taking part in the motorcycle training.

They were identified by their initials as RO, a 20-year-old man, and IA, a 21-year-old woman. Both are Belarusian citizens and hold Limited Stay Permits, or ITAS, under the Remote Worker category.

Immigration authorities said the two would be summoned for further questioning as officers seek information about the identities of the suspected instructors who escaped.

The identities and nationalities of the two people being sought have not been publicly disclosed.

The patrol also covered the Tukad Punggawa area of Denpasar, another location where authorities monitor activities involving foreign nationals.

Immigration officials said the operation was part of ongoing efforts to ensure foreigners in Bali comply with the conditions of their stay permits and do not engage in activities outside those permitted under their immigration status.

Bali Regional Immigration Office chief Ramdhani said authorities would continue strengthening immigration supervision across the island.

“We will continue to strengthen supervision in a measured manner,” Ramdhani said.

Authorities have not announced any charges or immigration sanctions in connection with the suspected motorcycle training activity.
