Bali’s Badung Regency is home to the island’s biggest and most well-known tourist resorts, from Kuta to Canggu, Uluwatu to Nusa Dua; Badung Regency is the place to be.
As we’ve just hit July, the Badung Tourism Board has issued an updated events calendar for the second half of the year, and it looks to be as exciting as ever.

Almost every tourist who visits Bali will spend some time in Badung Regency. Bali is divided into nine regencies, including Denpasar City. Top resort destinations in Badung Regency include Kuta, Legian, Seminyak, Canggu, Jimbaran, Uluwatu, and Nusa Dua.
Badung Regency plays an important role in Balinese culture at a provincial level and also has a unique subculture all of its own. While the top resort areas are best known for big hotels and beach clubs, Badung Regency has a wealth of cultural heritage for tourists to explore. In fact, the events calendar for the next six months highlights exactly this.
In July, we can look forward to the Semarak Pandawa Festival. This annual celebration at the iconic Pandawa Beach is one of the most impressive cultural spectacles on the island. Featuring the traditional Balinese arts, music, dance, crafts, and cuisines, this promises to be one of the best events of the year.
More details about the specific timings of cultural shows and parades will be announced soon. Here at The Bali Sun, we highly recommend adding a visit to Pandawa Beach to your Bali travel itinerary. It is one of the most dramatic beaches in all of Bali and offers genuinely breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean. If you can time it for the Semarak Pandawa Festival, even better.
In September, we are marking our calendars for the incredible Taman Ayun Barong Festival. This is an annual event hosted at the must-visit Taman Ayun Temple in Badung Regency.
We’ll say it: Taman Ayun Temple is a really underrated cultural gem for tourists. While many visitors head to famous temples like Uluwatu Temple, Tanah Lot Temple, and Ubud Water Palace, Taman Ayun Temple is one of the most spiritually significant sites in Badung Regency and receives far fewer visitors than the island’s most famous cultural landmarks.
The Taman Ayung Barong Festival 2026 promises to be bigger and better than ever. The festival showcases the best of the best Barong and Mekendang Tunggal performances in the land.
It is utterly mesmerizing and the perfect gateway into deepening your understanding of Balinese culture at a UNESCO World Heritage Site, no less.

For something seriously special, mark your calendars for 26th September when the tradition of Siat Geni will be celebrated in Tuban, close to Kuta Beach. Siat Geni is translated from three words: tradisi (tradition), Siat (fighting), and Geni (fire).
The tradition is another of Bali’s fiery affairs, the most famous of which is the Kecak.
In Siat Geni, two groups of young men from two different banjars within the wider village area come together to fight.
The dramatic fight ritual set the groups against each other, using fire from burning coconut husks. It’s absolutely exhilarating.

Also on the 26th September, Siat Tipat will take place at Pura Desa Kamal in Kamal Village in Mengwi. These days, it is more of a game than a ceremonial ritual.
Siat Tipat, as the name suggests, is a kind of fight. Two teams of local men, typically traders and farmers, gather at the temple or market area near the temple and battle each other using rice cakes and pillow snacks.

This is really just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to events in Bali, and specifically in Badung Regency for the second half of the year.
These are the big cultural events to mark your calendars with. Stick with us here at The Bali Sun, and we will keep you in the loop about the latest events and cultural moments that you need to know about every day of the week.
