BADUNG, Bali — Police were still investigating a viral video allegedly showing a foreign couple engaging in a sexual act outside a resident’s home in Canggu when another similar case surfaced in Bali just days later.
This time, a couple believed to be foreign nationals was allegedly caught having sex at a resident’s property on Jalan Pantai Berawa, Tibubeneng, North Kuta, Badung.
The incident reportedly happened at around 6:29 p.m. on Friday, August 21, and only began circulating widely on social media the following afternoon.
Police confirmed Sunday that officers had visited the property and matched the viral footage with the location. Investigators are now gathering information and working to identify the two people involved.
“We have visited the location and matched the viral video recording with the crime scene. The team is currently gathering information. It is still under investigation,” Badung Police Public Relations Sub-Section officer Aiptu Ni Nyoman Ayu Inastuti said.

Witness Finds Couple at Resident’s Property
Police said the incident was first discovered by a 47-year-old laundry worker identified by the initials NKW.
NKW was reportedly heading toward the front of a garage to dispose of used offerings when she noticed two people lying on the floor.
She initially did not realise what was happening. After stopping to take a closer look, she addressed the pair.
“Hey, hello,” she reportedly said.
Police said NKW was shocked to find the two people allegedly having sex beside the property’s gate.
The woman reportedly confronted them, but the pair did not respond.
NKW then went back and asked her child to contact the homeowner, police said.
The alleged act lasted around 15 minutes and was captured by CCTV cameras around the property.
The pair eventually stopped and left.
The homeowner, identified by the initials IWS, 47, reportedly crossed paths with the two people while entering the alley leading to his house. He did not realise at the time that they were allegedly the same people seen in the CCTV footage.
Police Search for the Couple
Police are now trying to locate the pair.
“Two foreign nationals are being sought. The North Kuta Police have also coordinated with Immigration,” Ayu Inastuti said.
The identities and nationalities of the two people have not been publicly disclosed.
The case comes as police are still investigating the earlier Canggu incident, when another video allegedly showing foreign nationals engaging in a sexual act in a residential area went viral.
The two cases are not known to be connected, and police have not said they point to any wider trend.
Still, the timing is hard to ignore.
For residents, the issue is not simply what two adults do behind closed doors. In this case, the alleged encounter took place at someone else’s property, in a residential neighbourhood where people live and work.
And it was discovered not by police, but by a local worker carrying out an ordinary task.
For now, police are trying to establish who the two people are and what happened at the Berawa property that Friday evening.
The investigation is ongoing.
